Microsoft Europe: Internet Usage Will Overtake Traditional TV In 2010

Microsoft, in a new report about Internet usage in Europe, predicts that the Internet will overtake TV as the most consumed form of media in Europe by the middle of next year. Broadband connections in Europe have grown by 95% in the last five years and the average European now spends about 8.9 hours per week online. Microsoft also predicts that over the next 5 years, usage patterns will shift away from traditional PCs to other web enabled devices like game consoles, IPTV, and mobile phones.

Online Penetration in Europe
There is still a clear North/South divide when it comes to Internet penetration levels in Europe. While all the Scandinavian countries and the Netherlands are highly connected, with penetration rates over 80%, countries in Southern Europe like Greece, Turkey, or Portugal hover around 40%.

Pentagon Blows Up Pigs in Bombproof Armor

The US military blows up live pigs and rats dressed in bombproof body armor to measure the protection the suit would provide for the troops. Most of the armor-clad animals died when put in semi-military vehicles which were blown up by the military researchers, the "USA Today" reported. The move is in clear violation of Animal rights and Animal Law.

Programada para uma trilogia, "It" já viu serem apresentadas as suas primeiras produções, “What is it?” e “It is Fine! Everything is Fine.”, cuja divulgação tem vindo a ser realizada dentro e fora dos EUA, sempre com amplo sucesso.

Refira-se ainda que Crispin Glover materializou igualmente o seu talento na área da música, nomeadamente através do álbum "The Big Problem does not equal the solution. The Solution equals Let It Be”. Um trabalho que, de alguma forma, constitui uma versão sonora de um imaginário muito particular.

PornOrchestra

Located in San Francisco, California, the PornOrchestra is an attempt to radically reinterpret the soundtrack to pornographic film.

Performing live improvised and composed scores to pornographic film, the PornOrchestra invigorates the mysterious experience of the Voyeur-cum-Auditeur. The equivalent of a circus band with its collective eye on the trapeze artist, the PornOrchestra teases out the thrill, amplifying the collective gasp at pornographic triumph – and tragedy – using "the most eclectic and creative musical minds working in the Bay Area today".

In its structure, it is a large ensemble of musicians, from a variety of backgrounds, performing under the direction of a conductor using scored instructions and improvisational cues.
